Since its founding, the group SLAVIA CAPITAL has regularly supported major events in art, sport and education. Charities and the promotion of excellence and talent are the common denominator of corporate philanthropy. Amongst many unique events supported in the past are:
On the 5th of march 2005, this film received 4 film awards from the Czech Film Academy for the year 2004 – the Czech Lion in the categories for best sound, camera, music and for the lead male act playing the main hero Yasha Kultiasova. The film King of Thieves also received the top award from the 36th film festival of Oty Hofman 2004 "Crystal Chatons." In addition to this, it also won the "Zlaty Dudek" award for best young male who played the role of the hero. The film was also intended as an Oscar nominee for best foreign language film 2004 and at the film festival in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, it won the audience award.
Throughout many years, SLAVIA CAPITAL was the general partner of the sporting event of the year - the DAVIS CUP tournament. Slovakia recorded its best result to date in the DAVIS CUP, the most important competition of representing teams in men’s tennis, with entry into the final of 2005.
In 2000, the Opera diva and fascinating Spanish sopranist Montserrat Caballé accepted an invitation from SLAVIA CAPITAL. On the stage of the Slovak National Theatre, she performed an almost 2 hour joint concert with Opera singer Peter Dvorský. The unique concert performance of two Opera stars was broadcast on the Slovak Television channel, as the new year concert in its first program of the year.
